WisHope Recovery is known for treating those we serve with the utmost care, respect and compassion. After all, the majority of our leadership is in recovery, too, so we have been there and we understand.
What is Cocaine and Its Effects?
Cocaine is a highly addictive white powdery substance that can be snorted, smoked, injected or dissolved in water and drank. When ingested, cocaine stimulates our central nervous system and high levels of dopamine produce extreme feelings of elation and euphoria. After extended periods of use, cocaine can have profoundly negative effects on a person’s mind, body and soul: it can change the genetics in our proteins and brain and nerve cells; cause anxiety, severe forms of stress, hyperactivity, hypertension; and strain on the heart. In fact, the most common cause of death in cocaine users is cardiac arrest or stroke.
Our Cocaine Addiction Treatment Program - What to Expect
WRC’s cocaine addiction treatment approach is customized for each individual. We take into account a person’s prior history of cocaine misuse, their supportive systems, and personal commitment to living a life in long-term recovery. Participants can undergo a pre-screen to identify the severity of their addiction and mental health issues to see which type of treatment will work best. After we assess this information a person may be recommended for detoxification, behavior modification through therapeutic means, such as counseling, or short or long-term medications if the person is suffering from co-occurring mental health conditions.
Following this, clients will work closely with licensed professionals to develop a customized treatment plan to determine what their path to recovery will look like. We use a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities to treat cocaine addiction, which is provided by qualified professionals and aims to create a semantic and sensory experience in order to heal the whole person.
Treatment for a cocaine addiction typically involves detox and therapy in an inpatient rehabilitation program to improve a person’s chances of a successful recovery. Our residential treatment program offers a sober and safe environment and typically lasts 30 to 90 days, but may last longer depending on the individual’s needs. Our residential program includes mental health counseling, cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapies, support groups, recovery meetings, relapse prevention and aftercare planning.
At WisHope Recovery Center, we use a variety of evidence-based modalities to effectively treat meth addiction, which is provided by qualified professionals and aims to create a semantic and sensory experience in order to heal the whole person.
